About Our Chapter
HOW WE STARTED
Our History
Women in Public Finance Mountain Region Chapter is a chapter of a national non-profit organization, called Women in Public Finance (www.wpfc.com), which seeks to advance women’s professional and leadership opportunities by fostering relationships, best-practices exchange, and providing educational activities and forums. Participants include state and local government issuers, not-for-profit issuers, investment bankers, attorneys, financial advisors, rating agency analysts, trust officers, and municipal market investors. The Mountain Region Chapter encompasses the States of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
The Mountain Region Chapter aims to strengthen the current and future generation of women in the public finance industry, to create women leaders within the public finance industry and within our communities, to create a forum in which to interact with other public finance professionals, to foster education and exchange of ideas and information in the industry, and to raise awareness of the industry throughout the region. To achieve these goals, the Mountain Region Chapter intends to host educational webinars and conduct community outreach events in each represented state. Members will focus their mentoring efforts on women currently working in the public finance industry and will assist in promoting scholarship programs organized by the Women in Public Finance national board for women in college and high school, to encourage more women to choose careers in public finance.
